Singleton v
Easebourne
Singleton cruised into the final of the S&G Motors 20 Over Downland Cup with
a convincing win over Easebourne. Having won the toss Singleton elected to field
and Hall and Williams bowled tight opening spells to put the pressure on
Easebourne. Davies (3-17) then continued their good work with immaculate line
and length, and it was not until Dixon and White struck a few lusty blows
towards the end of the Easebourne innings that they found the boundary, but
their score of 109 always looked gettable. Doel and G Perry made a solid start
running smart ones and twos, but both fell as they tried to up the pace. This
left the door open for Stanford (46*) and Symonds (28*) who matched caution with
aggressive straight hitting and pulling and brought Singleton home with 16 balls
to spare.
